Britain is famous for its royalty, both today and in the past. But over the centuries we can’t remember wanting to see any of them naked. In fact we’re indeed most grateful to the amount of rich fabric with which they have tended to drape themselves in with such royal regularity, and the steadfastness with which they have refused even to hint there might be skin underneath.
